Clean Up with Quality and Service
May 11, 2018 3:27 pmAccording to a British Cleaning Council Report from 2015, in that year over 4,000 new cleaning businesses started trading. Within a year over half of these had gone out of business again. The staff turnover in the industry is over 200%. What this suggests is that when choosing a contractor to clean your commercial or residential property there are several things you should consider.
Reliability is vital
By taking on one of these here today, gone tomorrow companies you expose yourself to the risk that they may not have the staff or equipment to maintain the level of service you expect. A reputable cleaning contractor will have systems in place to ensure that your building is always kept pristine, even if a regular cleaner is sick or on holiday. The cleanliness of your premises is your calling card to customers or tenants. Empty bins and dust free desks is the least your staff deserve. The best thing you can say about a cleaning company is that nobody notices them. It just happens without fuss or you needing to think about it at all.
Best price does not mean best service
You have gone out to tender for a cleaning contractor, selected the cheapest price and appointed the cleaners. The owner then tells you that he will need to recruit staff to fulfil your contract so it may be a week or two before they can start. He eventually brings in some staff who ask where the vacuum is. In the end an asthmatic machine is provided which breaks down after a few days. After a few grubby weeks you ask around and get glowing testimonials for one of the mid priced companies on your tender list. When they arrive promptly with all the equipment they need the place quickly looks spotless. Price is always important but in choosing a cleaning contractor quality and reliability of work is vital.
Flexibility and Understanding
If you have a doctor’s surgery or a dentists to clean then understanding the additional cleaning requirements, dealing with specialist or clinical waste for instance, is important and this awareness only comes with an experienced company with staff trained to the requirements of the contract. Each contract has unique aspects that require flexibility from the contractor and their staff, maybe public areas that require interacting with tenants or dealing with particular materials to clean.
The case study highlighting our work at Grantham Apartments for ABC Real Estate shows Express Property Services dealing with fly tipping in communal areas of a block. The client commented that our work is “responsive and efficient.” Proof of the benefits of an experienced contractor can be found in the Property Manager’s comment “I also like the fact that they know their stuff so can find the right solution when required.”
